ACE is a firm believer that positive contributions to the fabric of our communities return long-lasting benefits to society, our employees and our company. We primarily focus our philanthropic support in the areas of education, poverty and health and the environment. Click on the links below to learn more about ACE’s wide-ranging global philanthropic initiatives in the following areas:
- The ACE Hope School in China – ACE Foundation grants continue to provide support to the ACE Hope School, a rural elementary school in the Hebei Province in China built with funding from ACE in 2006. Support has also expanded to the Shirengou Central School located in the Shirengou Township in China.
- The ACE/Bermuda College Education Award – In partnership with the Bermuda College –a two year community college – ACE Foundation-Bermuda has provided annual education awards to students seeking to continue undergraduate studies overseas.
- USC Shoah Foundation – Funding supported the Shoah Foundation’s Witness for Humanity Rwanda genocide testimony and education project. The project supported the videotaping of interviews with survivors of the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. The interviews are now in the testimony archives and used in educational activities for schools in Rwanda and the United States.
- University of Pennsylvania Law School – The ACE Charitable Foundation has provided funding to support the ACE Rule of Law Fellowship. Penn Law graduates are afforded the opportunity to work with Human Rights first – a preeminent legal advocacy organization in rule of law and global human rights issues.
- Support to education in the insurance industry – Through grants to organizations such as St. John’s University, University of Georgia, Georgia State University, the Bermuda Insurance Institute, the Association of Bermuda Insurance Companies, the Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Students, and the Spencer Educational Foundation, ACE supports education initiatives oriented toward the insurance and risk management sciences.
- Per Scholas, Inc. – ACE has provided multi-year support to Per Scholas, a workforce development program located in New York City. The program supports advanced IT certification, software testing training, and job placement assistance. Program is targeted to unemployed and underemployed people who will benefit from retraining.
- International Rescue Committee – ACE has provided multi-year support for the development and implementation of certification and job-training programs for refugees preparing to transition from refugee camps located on the Thailand/Myanmar border.
- Opportunity International– ACE has provided support to the Trust Group Loan program in Colombia to provide opportunities for impoverished Colombian entrepreneurs to improve their business earnings and quality of life.
- ChildFund International – In Mexico and Ecuador, the ACE Charitable Foundation has funded ChildFund International with a two year grant to assist in securing access to clean drinking water and sanitation for close to 10,000 people in rural areas.
- The Conservation Fund – Through the Conservation Fund’s ACE Land Legacy Fund and ShadeFund program, ACE has provided $1 million in funding since 2006 for the conservation of more than 342,000 acres of critical lands and water resources in the U.S., as well as financing for green-business entrepreneurs.
- Fairmount Park Conservancy – 2015 marked ACE’s twelfth year of support to the Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Growing the Neighborhood program in Philadelphia.. This initiative supports improvements to neighborhood parks within the Fairmount Park system
- The Bermuda Zoological Society and Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo – Aid from ACE helps these organizations deliver free educational and junior volunteer programs for public primary and middle schools.
- American Red Cross – In 2014, ACE employees globally donated more than $49,500 to assist with relief efforts in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Haiyan. ACE’s Foundations matched all employee donations dollar-for-dollar, bringing ACE’s total disaster response to more than $349,000, which included the Foundation’s $250,000 grant for rebuilding activities.
- Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) –In 2014 ACE, in partnership with PBSP, provided funding for six newly reconstructed, disaster-resilient classrooms at the Carles, Iloilo elementary school that had been severely damaged by Typhoon Haiyan. Funding also provided a supplemental feeding program for severely malnourished students and basis school supplies and materials to teachers and students.
