Russell Bundschuh is President of ACE Life, a position he has held since joining the company in November 2010. He is responsible for the company’s international life insurance and global life reinsurance operations. Mr. Bundschuh was appointed Senior Vice President, ACE Group, in March 2014.
ACE Life provides traditional protection and savings products in more than 30 countries in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, through a variety of distribution channels including agency, bancassurance, worksite marketing, brokers and telemarketing through affinity groups. He is also responsible for ACE Tempest Re Life which supports our international life insurance operations while managing an existing book of reinsurance covering primary life insurers around the globe.
Prior to ACE, Mr. Bundschuh was Executive Vice President and CEO of the Asia sub-region for New York Life’s international business. From 2007 to 2009, he served as Chief Operating Officer for New York Life International, responsible for several functions across nine countries in Asia and Latin America. He joined New York Life in 2004 as First Vice President of Corporate Development. Previously, Mr. Bundschuh had a 10-year career with McKinsey & Company where he was a Partner and leader of the firm’s Services Strategy and Operations practice. Prior to McKinsey, he spent four years with IBM’s Marketing & Sales division in New York, where he sold and supported large systems implementations to insurance clients.
Mr. Bundschuh holds undergraduate degrees in Geophysical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds the FLMI professional designation.
