Joseph S. Clabby was appointed Division President, ACE Bermuda, in April 2015. He is responsible for directing the company’s underwriting, distribution and marketing of high-level excess liability, professional liability, political risk, and property insurance coverage through non-U.S. based brokers. Mr. Clabby is also Division President of ACE Global Accounts, the division within ACE Group that focuses the company’s worldwide underwriting, service and claims capabilities exclusively on large organizations with complex risks.
With more than 30 years of experience in banking, brokerage and insurance underwriting, Mr. Clabby has served as President, ACE Continental Europe. He was appointed to this position in July 2010 and was responsible for the further profitable growth and development of ACE’s insurance businesses in 18 countries across Europe.
Prior to that position, Mr. Clabby served as President of Regional Operations for ACE USA, where he drove distribution strategies on a national and regional basis, and expanded ACE USA’s product and marketing presence at the local level. In addition, his responsibilities included day-to-day leadership of ACE USA’s regional executive management team.
Prior to that position, Mr. Clabby served as President, ACE USA West. Based in San Francisco, Mr. Clabby led ACE USA’s Western operations, and oversaw the regional operations and executive leadership in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston. Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Clabby held various management positions in the reinsurance, brokerage and financial sectors.
Mr. Clabby joined ACE in 2001 and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Fordham University in New York City and a MBA in Finance from Pace University in New York City. In addition he holds a Master’s degree in Education from Montclair State University in New Jersey.
