Chairman, Insurance – North America
John Lupica is Vice Chairman of ACE Limited and Chairman, Insurance – North America, a position he has held since July 2011. He is responsible for the company’s property and casualty (P&C) and accident and health (A&H) insurance businesses in the United States, Bermuda and Canada. Mr. Lupica was appointed Vice Chairman of ACE Limited in November 2013 and Vice Chairman, ACE Group, in March 2014.
ACE’s businesses in North America include ACE USA, which provides a broad array of specialty P&C and A&H products and risk management services to corporate clients in the U.S. and Canada through retail brokers; ACE Westchester, which offers excess and surplus lines specialty products through wholesale brokers; Rain and Hail, a premier underwriter of crop insurance in the U.S. through independent agents; ACE Agribusiness, which offers farm and ranch coverage, as well as specialty P&C commercial insurance products and services to the agriculture market through independent agents and brokers; ACE Bermuda, which writes high-level excess liability, property, directors and officers and political risk coverage through large international brokers; ACE Commercial Risk Services, which offers specialty insurance products and solutions to small businesses through several distribution channels; and ACE Private Risk Services, which provides high net worth households with home, auto, valuables, umbrella, and recreational marine insurance through independent agents and brokers.
Mr. Lupica, who has over 25 years of property and casualty insurance experience, joined ACE in 2000 as Executive Vice President of the U.S. Professional Risk business and advanced to Division President of the unit. He also served as Division President of U.S. Regional Operations before being named President of ACE USA in 2005. He was appointed to the additional role of Chief Operating Officer, Insurance – North America, in 2010. Prior to ACE, Mr. Lupica served as Senior Vice President for Munich-American Risk Partners, Inc., and held various management positions at American International Group.
Mr. Lupica received a Bachelor of Arts from Hobart and William Smith Colleges and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
