Chairman, Insurance - Overseas General
John Keogh is Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of ACE Limited. He is responsible for the company’s property and casualty (P&C) and accident and health (A&H) insurance operations globally. Mr. Keogh also serves as Chairman, Insurance – Overseas General, a position he has held since joining the company in 2006. He was named Vice Chairman of ACE Limited in August 2010 and Chief Operating Officer in July 2011. Mr. Keogh was appointed Vice Chairman, ACE Group, in March 2014.
Prior to joining ACE, Mr. Keogh held a range of positions with increasing responsibility during a 20-year career with American International Group (AIG), including Senior Vice President, Domestic General Insurance, and President and Chief Executive Officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh (an AIG member company) from 2000 to 2006; Executive Vice President, AIG Domestic Brokerage Group, Head of Field Operations, from 1998 to 2000; and President and Chief Operating Officer, Lexington Insurance Company, from 1997 to 1998. He began his insurance career as an underwriter with AIG in New York in 1986.
Mr. Keogh serves on the board of trustees of the Eisenhower Fellowships and the board of overseers for The School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science of St. John’s University. He is also on the board of directors of BritishAmerican Business, the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, and the Brown University Sports Foundation.
Mr. Keogh holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brown University.
