Role Purpose
Role purpose:
The Financial Business Analyst, ACE Europe is responsible for providing support for the end to end process of the SPL ACE Europe financial analysis, reporting, planning and forecasting.
This will involve liaising with the central FP&A team, Actuaries, Credit Control and the SPL Underwriting and Pricing team. You will be expected to understand and articulate results to the SPL DFO, as well as liaising with the FP&A team.
You will be responsible for the collation and creation of the data at an individual program level for all financial submissions, including supporting the SPL DFO in the creation of program level P&Ls. You will have regular engagement with the wider SPL team and will provide support to them in the creation and understanding of P&L data.
The Financial Business Analyst will be accountable for the coordination and submission of all financial presentations, which will include the annual operating plan, 5-Year Strategic plan as well as any other relevant submissions, to a high standard.
This role will also be responsible for working with the SPL DFO on improving processes and other adhoc projects
Key Responsibilities
1. Providing support to the SPL DFO in the management of the quarterly forecasting and annual planning of the SPL business and US GAAP underwriting results, updated regularly to reflect actual experience.
2. Creation of the base data to enable timely and quality submission of the forecast which will include preparation of the analytical review commentary for the forecast reporting to the DFO
3. Provide support to the SPL DFO in assisting with the timely, complete and accurate submission of the SPL annual operating plan and 5-Year Strategic Plan. In doing so, will take ownership of components of the SPL planning phases.
4. Support the timely and quality submission of the monthly/ quarterly reports which include preparation and interpretation of the results and commentary for distribution to senior management both internally and Head office (Philadelphia).
5. Preparation of reporting for both internal stakeholder and external client review using powerpoint to a high standard
6. Assist the SPL DFO in developing AEG’s requirements for US GAAP Stat Net planning, forecasting and analysis of actual U/W results versus plan, prior year and forecast.
7. Liaison with BU finance contacts, Actuaries and the internal SPL Pricing and Underwriting teams to assist in the management of all financial submissions and analysis
8. Act as a contact for the FP&A team for all SPL related requests from AOG and AEG including query resolution.
9. Working with the SPL DFO on improving processes and other adhoc projects.
10. Expense management on the Direct BU expenses which will involve management of the close liaison with the BUs and the support expense team to understand and help articulate the overall expense position impacting the ACE Europe P&Ls. This will include challenging the status quo, but ensure that the expense information requirement of the business are met to enable them manage their expenses effectively.
11. Coordinate and populate all financial analysis presentations for submission as part of the planning cycles
Experience
• Experienced financial analyst with excellent data manipulation and analytical skills with experience of working within a large global company.
• Proven interpersonal and communication skills and advanced excel knowledge.
• A team player that can work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks
